The Philanthropist Mogul: Hussain Sajwani

Humble Beginnings

As a youth, Hussain Sajwani, sold chocolate candy and sweets to his peers, hopeful that he’d someday escape the poverty of his childhood. Humble as it may be, this small beginning, was the future Damac properties executive and chief’s first introduction to business. DAMAC was established in 2002, and is presently the Middle East’s leader in private development of luxury properties.

Since then, DAMAC’s residential, leisure and commercial high – end projects have flourished, monopolizing in Influential Middle Eastern countries like Qatar, Jordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq.

Cast in a Bad Light

Despite his many successes, Hussein Sajwani has received most of his publicity for ties to then candidate, Donald Trump. After attending a dinner party, where the would be president, declared his admiration for the Hussain Sajwani family, Sajwani received some bad American press. Trump’s smear campaigns of then president, Barack Obama, caused intense scrutiny of anyone Donald Trump praised, including Hussain Sajwani, by the American people.

Because of Trump’s tendency to cater to his powerful business partnerships, analysts believe the incident showed Trump’s complexities in separating his duties from the presidency and his past as a businessman. Although he handed over the business to his children, his personal list of contacts would still include business leaders with whom he had business relations.

Philosopher and Philanthropist

Trump would feel he and the Damac CEO are similar, but Sajwani has expressed very different sentiments from that of Trump’s. Although Sajwani is the owner of a wealthy establishment, he has stated that he does not believe in extravagance, nor is he impressed by luxury.

Sajwani even feels that neither he or his family are considered at a level above anyone else. In fact, the mogul expressed his solid beliefs, implying that someone who achieves much, will be more appreciative of life, when they’ve had the pleasure of experiencing poverty.

“The young are the future of society and it is crucially important to provide the right environment to give them the very best possible start in life,” says the Damac owner. Not only is Sajwani a man of many inspiring philosophies, but he continues to uphold principles many other wealthy execs have seemed to abandoned.

As the DAMAC empire, approaches world wide recognition, it is the foundation behind millions of dollars in contribution to aiding impoverished children. Not only does Sajwani talk the talk, but he also practices what he’s preached. As a result, Mr. Sajwani’s charitable contributions to humanity’s societal issues will outlive any bad press involving him or his family.
